Incredibly Lifelike Galapagos Tortoise Imagery
Obverse: The obverse depicts Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, encircled by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II," "SOLOMON ISLANDS," "2 DOLLARS" and "2021," with the coin's serial number appearing below. A palm tree, foliage and rocky shoreline surround the portrait, utilizing the coin's unusual shape to continue the island themed imagery from the reverse. This rendition of the Queen was created by renowned British sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley in 1998.
Reverse: The reverse features a charming scene filled with tropical foliage, as a colorized Galapagos Tortoise attempts to walk beyond the boundaries of the coin. The inscriptions "GIANTS OF THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS" and "999.9 SILVER 1 TROY OUNCE" curve through the design.
