Description
2020 Stamp and Coin Cover - Year of the Mouse
The Perth Mint and Australia Post are pleased to present this stamp and coin cover to celebrate the lunar Year of the Mouse.
Those born under the sign of the Chinese lunar mouse in 2020, 2008, 1996, 1984, 1972 and every 12th preceding year are said to be smart, resourceful, adaptable and kind. Possessing a rich imagination and strong intuition, rats rely on quick wits and an enterprising nature to find opportunity for success in almost all endeavours.
Issued as Australian legal tender, the uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs.
DESIGN
Each coin’s reverse portrays two mice foraging on husks of corn. Also included in the design is the Chinese character for ‘mouse’, the inscription ‘MOUSE 2020’ and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2020 year-date and the monetary denomination are shown on each coin’s obverse.
OFFICIAL AUSTRALIA POST STAMP
Affixed to the envelope are two official Australia Post $1.10 and $3.30 stamps. The stamps are postmarked for the first day of issue and the envelope includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity.
