2012 Royal Australian Mint Six Coin Unc Set - Hyper-metallic Printed 50c
Description
Royal Australian Mint’s Uncirculated Year Set tradition continues with this new celebration of Australia’s circulating coin designs. The six coin uncirculated set remains a cherished and traditional favourite among Australian collectors and a flagship product of the Royal Australian Mint since 1966.
The set contains 2012-dated 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c and $1 coins portraying Stuart Devlin’s decimal designs introduced in 1966. It also includes a 2012 $2 coin, designed by Horst Hahne.
Struck from cupro nickel or aluminium bronze, each uncirculated coin is struck with greater pressure than standard coins to improve the sharpness and detail of the designs.
In 2012 the 50c piece is again the star of this six coin set. Using never before seen hyper-metallic colour printing to truly accentuate the design of the Australian Coat of Arms making the coin design fresh and noteworthy. This set again showcases the levels of innovation a world class, modern coin-making facility such as the Royal Australian Mint can reach.
The 2012 coins are housed in an illustrated folder and sleeve.
