2022 $10 'C' Mintmark Gold Proof Coin - Australian Dinosaurs

In 2022 dinosaur aficionados will be excited to see a suite of coins featuring the Australian megaraptor – the Australovenator.

This exciting coin design features Australia’s unique and veracious Dinosaur predator - the Australovenator, with the packaging features another iconic Australian Dinosaur – the Muttaburrasaurus.

Muttaburrasaurus langdoni is a large-bodied ornithopod from the Cretaceous period that lived 105 to 100 million years ago.

The snout of this species was unusually large and rounded. This feature may have either helped it regulate its temperature or produce long-range calls.

Muttaburrasaurus langdoni possessed a complex and tightly packed row of teeth called a tooth battery that helped it eat tough vegetation.

Size: ~2800kg.

Diet: Cycads and other tough vegetation (Herbivore)

Discovery: The first specimen of Muttaburrasaurus was discovered by Doug Langdon in 1963 at Rosebery Downs Station, near Muttaburra QLD.

Age: 105.3 to 99.7 million years ago (Cretaceous period)
